I for one, thought the whole confession to be excellently written, and every point well made and relevant to this period just as the spirit of the Barmen Declaration was needed for its time. Which is why I was somewhat surprised when I sent the link to a friend of mine who no longer self-identifies as conservative, but who nonetheless is not happy with liberals either and will have none of that - I was taken aback when he said there was really not much in there to disagree with; but that nonetheless if he was asked to sign it, he wouldn't be able to. One observation of Andrew Walker’s response to Skye’s podcast on the Evangelical Confession: he defines the common good very narrowly and on his own terms encompassing only 4 topics. For instance, he says nothing about creation care-also part of our creational mandate and an area that most definitely concerns the common good.
