I wanted to read Harry Potter, but my mom said absolutely NOT. Instead, my mother handed me the Left Behind series. In a section of this episode, you talk about the Godfather saying “Friends close-enemies closer,” referring to how the enemy is much more disguised than we realize. Through purity culture (which I was also raised in), prosperity gospel (my ex-husband’s mantra), a transactional God, sexual prosperity, and too many more to name. The Left Behind series was so damaging to my theology. It took me years…
