French Friday: Open Corruption & Religious Public Schools

Since taking office in January, Trump's net worth has increased by nearly $3 billion thanks to his family-branded cryptocurrencies being purchased by foreign governments and businesses. He accepted a Boeing 747 as a "gift" from the government of Qatar, and has issued pardons to people who paid $1 million to attend a fundraiser dinner. David French explains why the Constitution's prohibition against foreign gifts is being ignored, and why Trump's shameless corruption has been met with silence by journalists and politicians.  French and Skye Jethani also discuss why Trump's evangelical supporters don't care about his corruption, and how celebrity pastors and the Prosperity Gospel prepared them to accept the President's behavior as acceptable. Then, they discuss the case before the Supreme Court seeking to allow religious charter schools to receive public funding. French and Jethani examine the pros and cons of school choice and why Christians may want to reconsider accepting tax dollars for religious education.

The Trump Presidency’s World-Historical Heist by David Frum:

In addition to mistreating immigrants and pushing tariffs, Trump has also done a lot of horrible stuff to trans people, officially declaring them invalid, messing with their passports, messing with medical information from the NIH, and a host of other cruel and inappropriate things. He’s even taken off the T from government websites, as if they don’t exist. Whether one agrees with trans ontology or not, making this the official position of the US government is something else again, and is destructive.

It is simply sad the level of corruption the President of the United States of America has reached in only 4 months in office. What is more sad, is that 80 to 90 percent of U.S. White Evangelicals voted for this corrupt convicted felon.

I knew who Trump was... but I also learned the sad state of the Evangelical church in America. Major repentance is necessary but it will not happen..... what is also sad is that people from Evangelical churches want to invite people to their church.....

Could someone from the U.S. White Evangelical other than the Holy Post and Russell Moore please speak up for once..... oh wait a minute that would require courage and integrity.... never mind...
