Holy Post Media is no stranger to accusations of both-sidesism. Skye and Kaitlyn talk about why they believe pointing it out on both sides isn’t simple equivocation or conflict-avoidance, but instead a responsibility… depending on the context.

I know you guys don't want us to comment before we listen to the whole thing, but I'll forget later and I wanted to let you know that I am loving the thoughtfulness of this episode. I don't always agree with you and sometimes I do think, "Mmm, they're not thinking about this important piece of the argument" but I love that you are always trying to be thoughtful and trying to center Jesus.
This was a pretty frustrating episode to listen to. Love you guys, but this crystallized one of the issues I have with you. "The Left" always gets painted as this nebulous entity and used as a counter for what an administration is doing. One one hand, this administration is actively looking for ways to shut down dissent. On the other hand left leaning people on social media were often overly mean/too critical of people. If I then say "well the left also has fault", that's a gross oversimplification that doesn't really serve anyone right. Pointing out the California gerrymandering issue without pointing out that it was directly as a response to Texas and the potential federal implications doesn't do service to…
Hey friends, thank you for this thought provoking conversation. I agree about illiberalism and we need to be careful to go to the other side of the road and fall into the ditch of fundamentalism. However I wish that we could hear from more progressive or left leaning Christians themselves that have some of these "wacky" theologies. Then your audience could use discernment rather than a vague "trust me bro" from our hosts. I have learned a lot from having David French on, and having similarly regular leftist or progressive Christians would be equally fruitful. Grace and peace!
Generally love the show and I understand why the constant calls of “bothsidesism” can be frustrating. However, hearing the list of problems with the left was also frustrating as a listener. The podcast continuously misuses and mislabels terms like “left”, “progressive”, and “democrat”. There is a gigantic chasm between “the left” and the Democratic Party. I know Skye and Kaitlyn know this, but of all the issues of the left that were listed, about one and half applied to the Democratic Party. Most applied solely to activists and college aged kids that lack any real power. These two groups are very often on different sides of an issue (e.g. defund the police, support for Israel, defense spending, love and su…
I would really like to see the texts Caitlyn is referring to from the gender studies class. Would it be possible to find them somewhere?
